Freight parcels can be defined as
any parcels not palletised but weighing between 31-99kg.
In addition, freight parcels may be defined as having
dimensions in excess of 2.7m girth and 2.0m in length.
They are essentially large or heavyweight parcels. Any
single item which has as wooden base, i.e skids, but
has dimensions of less than 61cm x 61cm x 61cm, or any
item of a standard 1200mm x 1000mm and a height of 1400mm,
regardless of weight, will be charged as a pallet.
NB. Freight and standard parcels should
be consigned separately. However, if you do ship a multiple
piece consignment with a mixture of freight and parcels
the whole consignment will be charged as freight if
one item weighs more than 31kg. For example: If three
parcels are consigned and the first parcel =50kg (freight
item), second parcel =10kg (standard item) and the third
parcel =5kg (standard item), then the whole consignment
will be charged as freight because one of the items
weighs more than 31kg.
Pallets can be defined as having a
maximum footprint size of 1200mm x 1000mm, a height
of 1400mm, with a maximum weight of 350kg per item.
Pallets in excess of this size or weight may be charged
as two separate pallets.
